We found that the original 70's pickups had a nice snap and growl with super tight lows, but they seemed to lack fullness in the tone which was a big complaint for the 70's era pickups. We perfected that with these pickups to have a fuller sound with a much broader frequency response while retaining all of the snap and growl of the originals.
They are built with Alnico 5 magnets, lacquered grey fiberboard bobbins, and vintage spec 42 plain enamel wire. Carefully calibrated so that the neck and bridge are balanced in volume and character. The neck pickup is clear and punchy while the bridge pickup is slightly hotter for fuller tone. These are RWRP with each other. Black pickup covers and mounting hardware included. Vacuum potted coils.
